In the third quarter of 2024, the music and podcasts app landscape in Egypt showed intriguing trends across the top five Android applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a strong presence with its weekly downloads fluctuating between 292K and 345K, peaking in mid-September. The app's weekly revenue experienced a notable rise in late July, reaching approximately $7.7K, before a gradual decline to about $2.3K by early September. Meanwhile, weekly active users remained robust, ranging from 2.3M to 2.5M, showing slight variations throughout the quarter.

Anghami: Play music & Podcasts saw weekly downloads ranging from 42K to 64K, with a peak in early September. The app's weekly revenue was relatively stable, hovering around $4K to $4.8K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. However, the weekly active users showed a declining trend, dropping from around 1M to 855K by the end of September.

SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs experienced a decrease in weekly downloads from 57K to 39K over the quarter. Despite this, the app's weekly revenue remained minimal, ranging from $76 to $135. Weekly active users also showed a decline, starting at approximately 2.4M and decreasing to 2.2M by the end of the quarter.

Deezer: Music & Podcast Player had lower activity in terms of downloads, with numbers ranging from 147 to 923. The app's weekly revenue varied significantly, peaking at $226 in late July. Active users decreased from 84K to 44K throughout the quarter, indicating a downward trend.

Apple Music downloads gradually declined from 3.3K to 1.7K. Despite this, the app's weekly revenue showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching $103. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 87K and 93K.
